Santa Clara, NY - Great free sites in the Adirondacks, near the St. Regis Canoe Area. 15 sites on floodwood road, most are drive-in, only a few were park and walk a few feet to camp. Totally free and legal, all sites are marked and numbered. Some sites are really awesome and right on the water. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and all sites were full, but one. Stayed two nights, never saw a ranger. All sites have fire pits and outhouses. Would recommend and will be staying here again. Use gps coordinates, or search for directions to “St. Regis Outfitters” (canoe rental shop) as it’s on the same road as all the sites, down by site 12. Enjoy!
