State Forest

We stayed in this clearing lined by boulders down a road marked with a state park sign. No signage indicating anything was allowed or not allowed. After passing this clearing and going up the hill, it’s absolutely not passable by anything other than 4x4 as it’s steep and muddy due to water crossings. There were also freshly downed trees up there so we stayed safe and away from trees in the clearing. Enjoy!

April 2024: Very pretty spot, in the middle of the mountains. Pine forests all around off steep gravel road. Very desolate, no houses around. Flat spots possible to find. Space for half dozen campers, easy to turn around. This is called State Forest. The first one South State Forest doesn’t exist anymore so you must continue to drive South.

Level of confidence the site is free: Most likely - Site is on public lands.
Toilets nearby: None
4X4 or high clearance required: Helpful but not required
Cell service available: AT&T
Park pass or permit required: No
Showers nearby: No
Potable water nearby: No
Type of property: Other public land
