Old Hwy 66

Just on the south side of old 66, on top of a rise when the train tracks are closest to the road..small turnoff, easy to miss, On top of mound, overlooking rt66 on one side and a double train tracks in a gorge on the other.. trains running next to you 24 hours a day .. I loved it.. you can view the trains by looking down upon them as they pass through the gorge, especially at night with the powerful train headlights reflecting off of the side walls of the gorge..all within 100 feet of the campsite.. stayed multiple times here..this part of rt 66 is little known, very little traffic.. I have a 24ft class C, no problem getting in, out and even turning around, I really don’t see a problem with putting a larger rv in this spot. You would be all alone, It’ll be one of the spots that is a memorable one on the trip, guaranteed..

Level of confidence the site is free: Most likely - Site is on public lands.
Toilets nearby: None
4X4 or high clearance required: No
Cell service available: Verizon
Park pass or permit required: No
Showers nearby: No
Potable water nearby: No
Type of property: Other public land
Big Rig Friendly: Unknown
