Waterford OH - Old reclaimed strip mines. With many, many small lakes and ponds you can camp right next to the water. It is soo large and very few use this beautiful place. No guns or alcohol allowed. This location is at the Luke Chute lock #5 Free camping register at lock office building <br />outside drop box. Lock attendant is on duty Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Room for 4 or 5 RVs and plenty of room for tent camping. <br /> <br />August 2021: Coordinates confirmed. Drive carefully on the narrow, windy road approaching the lock/dam and be alert for other long RVs. There are TWO RV parking spots, #1 and #2. The rest of the spots are tent-only and they are numbered on a white PVC pipe. <br /> <br />The entrance sign says the ‘park closes at 11:00 PM,’ but there is no further explanation and there is no gate. <br /> <br />There are a dozen or so un-numbered but marked long RV spaces before the grassy area. Unknown if these are part of the “park” with the closing hour or not.
