Site Details

Woolum Campground

Part of the Buffalo National River/NPS. Considered a backcountry site so there’s no fee. There’s a large grassy lot that can accommodate at least a dozen tents; if you’d like to you can drive further down the road and camp along the river bank. There are guidelines to follow for backcountry camping (eg. Leave no Trace policies and such), so be sure to read the webpage on backcountry camping on the NPS website for more information. One important thing to note, the road here no longer crosses the river; or can take a little while to drive to the more popular sections of the Buffalo River (45 minutes-1 hour). Still a cool place to camp!
