Long windy dirt road that leads to Max Patch has a few (3-5) pullouts that could be used for car camping if absolutely necessary. You could also sleep on the side of the road or in the gravel parking lot. Definitely free but it’s always packed so the risk is finding a spot. When I visited in November 2020 the road was packed for a mile. We went past Max Patch gravel lot and found a pullout. Pretty risky to car camp but possible.
